What the IMDB says:

On the tropical island of Wongo, a tribe of beautiful women discover that the other side of the island is inhabited by a tribe of handsome men. They also discover that a tribe of evil ape men live on the island, too, and the ape men are planning a raid on the tribe in order to capture mates.

Plot:

Mother Nature is the narrator? 10,000 years ago, the experiment ensued. The village of Wongo had beautiful women and male chauvinist pig men. However, the village of Goona had good guys and shrill battleaxe women.

One of the hunters comes to Wongo’s queen. Soon, the women will be ready for their marriages. The women are cooking, etc…as the men come in from fishing and drinking. A strange man rows in. The Wongo dudes hide their women who are amazed by the visitor. Endar, the son of the king of Goona is looking at Ohmu. Endar warns Wongo about a strange tribe of ape-men. He wants the villages to unite to attack the ape-men.

The Wongo men decide that the Goona men are only for their women. They plan to spear Endar in the morning.

Later, Ohmu leering for Endar for she craves his furry ewok. Wongo King decides to give Ohmu to Ocko. Ohmu overhears about the plan to kill Endar. She warns him. Let the lustin’ ensue.

In the morning, the Wongo men are about to send their women to the temple for purification before their marriage. Ohmu tells the other women and wants them to help save Endar. The women hold the men back so Endar escapes. The men expel the women from the village until their god sacrifices one of them.

Endar reaches Goona. He tells his people of the Wongo women. They’re impressed.

The Wongo women go to the temple. They are to offer a sacrifice for insulting the dragon god. The interpretive dance fu boogie ensues. Later, they’re at the lagoon and unaware of the approaching alligator. The alligator wrestling ensues. Most of the women stayed back. The gator still fights with Ohmu who is able to defeat it.

That night, the women must wait until an alligator kills one of them. Ohmu and Mona are still thinking about the Goona men. Suddenly, an ape-man attacks them. The women fight and the ape-man gets to be gator chow. Ohmu claims the gator took the ape-man as their sacrifice and that they can return to Wongo.

The next day, the women find the men gone from Wongo. Ohmu fights Aki who claims to be the head woman. Ohmu won’t kill Aki but decides to go to Goona.

Wongo men return later. They think the ape-men took the women and decide to go to Goona.

Goona, the king sends the young men to the forest to prove their manhood without any food or weapons and not to talk to any women. Returning in a month, they will be allowed to get married.

Wongo women spot some of the Goona women; think they’re ape-men women. The Goona women are hateful and run off.

Some of the Goona men find the Wongo women. Goona men explain about the man test. The Wongo women start to lasso the guys for their own and take them to the Wongo dragon temple.

The dragon god orders the men released when the Wongo men arrive with their mates: the Goona women. Endar claims Ohmu and all are happy.

What I say:

Everyone don't take this the wrong way. This isn't meant to be offensive. But frankly I don't care about political correctness and if someone is on my site and that concerned they've got far too much time on their hands. Go create a clean and cheap energy source or something profound. But for the ninjapprentices out there, where was I? What the world needed? Not the battle of sexes...It's the battle of the women versus the male chauvinist pigs and the other battle with guys versus ugly chicks. Oddly enough, the Beverly Hillbillies episodes that had Granny and Ellie Mae support Women's Lib somehow is high art compared to the Wild Women of Wongo.

Wild Women of Wongo with its alliteration sounds forgive me wild. But the late 1950s and early 1960s could have movie titles that sounded more risque and be tame. How many Frankie and Annette beach movies have the word "Bikini" in the title? "Wild Women" is almost the kind of thing William Castle would have done title wise if he wasn't more interested in all the gimmicks.

Notice how the ape-men are mentioned but magically disappeared about halfway through the movie. Have at least, both villages uniting to fight the ape-men would at least have been a fight rather than groups bring prisoners to a temple. The end is the wacky sitcom ending of practically any romantic comedy. "Aw, she found love with that guy who she cast glances with at the very beginning...The fat lunkhead found the hateful shrew...All is right with the world..."

To tell the truth, I'm not quite sure what was going on at several points. The "Too dark to see" scenes should be banned out of movies. The Wongo women had offended the men who sent them into the jungle until one of them was eaten by a crocodile for a blood sacrifice. No wonder, the Wongo women were drooling over Goona guy. Then there were several parts that were prety dull like the one woman angry at the leader chick. OK, it was just done for a catfight. 2 women in cave girl togas circling each other and grappeling.

It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature..especially when she's the narrator of the introduction explaining how she and Father Time experimented 10,000 years ago with humanity. I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about sociology or the experimentation into group dynamics concerning a village of attractive women with prehistoric male version of rednecks who only hunt and buy wives with bags of seashells and another village of sensitive men with 1950s ugly women who would make the Killer Shrews seem tame...

Typically, these movie with a group of women who run into the strange men and don't know what they are...It's been done in a couple of post-apocalyptic movies and some other sci-fi movies. Like to say, that this is like the anime Vandread but can't. Any anime that starts off with that women are evil and will eat men's livers at least has an interesting hook.

The 10,000 years ago doesn't qualify this as the precursor for the recent 10,000 B.C. So no woolly mammoths helped to construct any of the Egyptian pyramids here. The trailer for that movie I'm sure cost more than the entire budget of the Wild Women of Wongo..
