The lifelike toy creations of a fuddy-duddy tinkere rally to his cause. Next up, mopre adventure to keep Josh scrambling - Chapter Four: Eggs From 70 Million B.C.!

Plot:

Scientist Dr. Irwin 1138 scattered pieces of the Nullifier across the timeline away from the evil Dr. Zoetrope. Ordinary kid, Josh Kirby is recruited to help keep the Nullifier pieces away from Zoetrope. In the time pod, Josh gets thrown into the time-stream and lands in a forest.

He meets Annie, a human sized living doll, and Theo a living teddy bear.

Can you detect what is peculiar about this picture?

Dr. Irwin and Azibeth are trying to find Josh.

On Toyworld, Josh explains how he’s trying to find the Nullifier when he discovers a Nullifier piece right in front of him. Annie and Theo tell him about Geppetto, the Toymaker, who could help him. They head to the Geppetto’s castle.

I caught a fish this big...
What’s every castle filled with human sized toys needing? If you said song and dance numbers, you’d be correct, sir…Dancing before hip-hop funkiness, and flamenco dancing ensues.

Who knew that there's a giant Santa Claws?

Who ever thought they'd see people dressed as giant stuffed animals doing the tango?

A lonely toymaker made them...

Dr. Zoetrope in his battle armor teleports in. Josh tries to convince the toys to fight but it’s not working. However, Zoetrope’s weapons are stopped by Geppetto’s energy field. Keeping the Nullifier piece away from Zoetrope, Josh, Annie, Theo, and Geppetto escape.

Zoetrope enslaves the toys to find Josh.

Geppetto and Josh head into the Nightmare Forest to work on some device. Apparently, people built robots to fight for them, but robots kept fighting until only Geppetto was left.

Zoetrope heads after Josh.

Josh is searching for a radio to contact Irwin’s ship. Suddenly, he’s chased by some troll. Josh runs into Zoetrope who explains how he’s a time warrior who offers him a deal. Josh refuses and gets tossed off a cliff but is luckily saved by Theo who pulls him up.

Josh, Theo head back to the castle to look for the radio.

Zoetrope attacks the castle.

Josh is able to send out a mayday. Finally, the time ship arrives. Zoetrope is holding Annie hostage when Geppetto arrives and lets loose with his pie catapults.

Raggedy Ann realized she never should have laughed at Raggedy Andy's battle armor..
Zoetrope teleports away.

Geppetto awards Josh citizenship as a honorary toy. Josh say bye to Theo and Annie. The time ship with Irwin, Azabeth, and Josh head off into the time stream. Into a cliffhanger…TO BE CONTINUED…

What I say:

A kid movie. It's been quite a while since I got to one of those...Most movies like this are inspired by one blockbuster. How many movies were inspired by E.T. besdies Nukie? Typically, everyone thinks of kid movies as Disney comedy movies. If not from a blockbuster, bad cheap kid movies will still make a decent amount of money. How many dog playing sports movies have come out in the past 10 years? The numerous cheap kid movies don't get that much recognition: BMX Bandits, Garbage Pail Kids, and Merlin : the Return.

Charles Band is sort of like a less famous version of Roger Corman. He directed quite a number of movies before moving into producing them in the 1990s. Full Moon Entertainment. Remember the Puppet Master movies or the later Trancers. Aw, the days of Full Moon Entertainment... Shrunken Heads or the never officially released Fantastic Four. Ahhh, yes, Charles Band did produce this movie. I'm not sure if it was filmed in Romania, a number of Charles Band's movies in the early and mid-1990s were filmed there because of it being cheap. Proving that the urban legend of Dracula being the scariest thing out of that area has been supplanted with this movie..

This is such a low budget movie, no 3rd Degree Wisconsin Drinking Ninjapprentice is going to extol how wonderful the costumes are...A planet of toys is a couple of notches below some of the later Planet of the Apes movies. For a 90 minute movie, not much really happens in it. The characters just sort of wander around aimlessly.

Since, I've only seen the 3rd movie, it is a little hard to keep track of things. We have the good scientist, the teenage warrior girl, the weird puppet pet, along with our ordinary kid all battling to keep the Nullifier away from the evil Dr. Zoetrope. This movie was shot back to back with the rest of the movies in the series. The opening credits have bits from all the movies. If you can't quite understand how this series reached part 3. Actually, it managed to do 3 more sequels. 6 movies all together...Just in case, here's a list of the entire series if any of my ten of fans gets desperate for the rest of the movies.
